Its been a while

Its been a while since I last posted something, and I've got lots to show you:) But for tonight, I will pot something small:-)
This is a ceramic candle that I brought back from the dead! It had chips and faded paint on it. I loved the look, but I think a sun should be brighter haha. I used Masters Touch in Antique Gold, FolkArt Gold, and Liquitex Acrylic Ink in Raw Umber. I love this! What do you think?

Cowboys Birthday Card

Hello Everyone!
First I want to thank you all for your comments, they really make me happy:)

Ok, so tonight, I remembered my little brother is turning 17 in this coming week, so I got to work on a card for him.
My brother and my Dad both LOVE Dallas Cowboys!
So I decided because it's FINALLY football season, and the Cowboys kicked off to a great start this year, Why not make him a Cowboy's Card?

This card is 6x6 black cardstock with white, silver, and navy scraps on it. Here is the original layout I went with:

This ribbon flower was my first attempt at making them. I think it came out alright for the first time, and I see myself making LOTS of these in the near future!

The letters are stickers, By Remark. I doodled around and on them.
On this strip of silver scrap, I embossed 3 different Happy Birthday sentiments.

This card was really basic. Something I pulled together really fast. But overall, I do love the outcome. What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

Love Birds

So, today I'm going to share with you a page from my art journal:)

Fisrt, I used Modeling paste and a 2 bird stencils.
After the paste dried, I used Liquitex Acrylic Ink in Phthalocyanine Blue on the bird on the right, and colored its belly with Permanant Red Master's Touch Acrylic Paint, and it's beak with Flesh. On the bird on the left, I painted Persian Red, and the belly Sky Blue. The beak is painted Flesh. The color of the leaves is Lime Sorbet.
Above the birds, I put a little white heart from my stash:)

Next, I painted the background Ocean Green. I used a stencil and traced the clouds from a book page, and cut the out, distressed the edges with Black Soot, and modpodged them down.
I doodled on the inside and outside of the cloud using a white and black pen.

I spritzed on red spray with a "Love" stencil by Home Decor Show Offs.

And last, I glued down these Prima Flowers, which I love so much, and added a gemstone in the middle of them:)

This was a very simple page in my journal, but I really like it.
I'm sure one of these days, I'll go in and add more to it:)

I hope I inspired you with this Art Journal page, I enjoyed just going for it and not really thinking about it. It seems thats when I have the most fun creating!

Thanks for stopping by, and if you're a new follower, Thankyou!
I'm looking foward to seeing your work!

Hugs!

Imagine

Hey!
Today I want to share a canvas that I did a little while back.

To start out, I covered my canvas in 7Gypsies 6x6 paper, from the Paddington paper pack.
Next, I painted on a border with FolkArt, the color Aqua.
Now, I went to the Cricut, and cut out Imagine using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.

Now, I used the Cuttlebug. I inked the inside of the folder with Colorbox Cat's eye's in Magenta, then used the Cuttlebug like you normally would.
I modpodged all the letters on, and then I painted the rest of the background with the same blue, leaving the area areound the letters blank. Then I came in with Master's Touch Acrylic in Perminant Red, and lightly washed over the area behind the letters, so that you can still see the papers underneath.

Now, I took a stencil and randomly stenciled on some gesso to give the canvas more texture.
I also used some bubble wrap and Master's Touch Permanant Black acrylic to make the black circles:)
And now, for the last step. I found that my letters faded a little into the background so I went aroung them with white ink, not neatly, of course! And then I used my black paint to make the letters 'POP' out at you.

I loved this canvas so much, I have it hanging on my wall. I love the colors, and I am very satisfyed with it!
I hope you enjoyed the steps and that I inspired you!

Have a very happy Hump Day!

Hopes and Dreams

So today is friday, and that means DILLY BEANS DESIGNERS & FRIDAY CHALLENGES!
This week's challenge is:
Black and White plus one color of your choice.

And this is what I made for the challenge:

To start, I covered the page with book text, and washed Ocean Green over the whole page.
Then I took little strips of a tag I had stamped on and made stems for flowers.
This flower in the middle is Spellbinders Blossom 1, on stamped sheet music.
These 3 stamps are from Paper Wings Productions.
The scroll is a Bo-Bunny Rubon, and in the middle, I stamped "Dream."
The bottom layer of this flower is made by Paper Studios, and the top is Prima, with a little bead I added:)
And this one is the same, except oppisite order.
I had lots and lots of fun on this project, creativity just poured out of me!
I  hope you enjoyed it, and that I inspire you!
HAVE AND AWESOME LABOR DAY WEEKEND!

Butterfly Bliss

Last night, I sat down and began working on a new 11x14 canvas, that I named Butterfly Bliss.

The first thing I did was put down some scraps from the blue paper bin.
Next, I painted a border on using Master's Touch Acrylic in Ocean Green.
I used a cloud stencil and modeling paste to make the clouds.
Then, I took a stencil and misted on some teal, black, and red.
Some of the butterflies are Bo-bunny rubons.

Now, I took the bliss embellishment and sprayed it with some red mists, and distressed the outside of it with Vintage Photo.
I added the butterfly and the white flower on the embellishment, both by K&Company.

Next, I wrote this quote by Nathaniel Hawthorne on card stock, cut it out and adhered it to the canvas.
This guy here is from K&Company. It was origanally a cream color, but I used my distress inks, Victorian Velvet and Peeled Paint.
Look at the bling I added to the wings! I also added bling to some other butterflys.
And last, below "Bliss", I added a white lace ribbon, and a blue bow on top of it :)

I had a lot of fun with this canvas, and I tried not to be too serious about it,  I just wanted to enjoy it!
Thanks for stopping by, and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Live the Life You Imagine

So, it's been a little while since I last posted something, but I finally have a project to post for you!
This is a little 6x6 canvas.
For the background colors, I used Master's Touch Acrylic Paint in the colors Persian Red, and Flesh.
The circles are made from Liquitex Modeling Paste.
Next, I inked the paste and the edges of my canvas with blue ink.
I mod-podged a piece of scrap paper from my stash.
I also doodled the flourish in the right corner.
I highlighted the corners of the canvas with silver ink.
Next, I stamped a stamp by Tim Holtz on a piece of cream colored card stock, cut around it, and distressed the edges using Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Tea Dye. Then I adhered it to the canvas.
Now, I added some of my Prima Flowers.
I misted them with a mist a made using FolkArt Metallic in Antique Copper.
And of course, I distressed the flowers, too, with Tea Dye.

And for the finishing touches! In the middle of the Prima flowers, I added little dots of modeling paste, to give the flowers more texture.

I had lots of fun doing this little canvas, and I hope I inspired you!
